Representing the 35th District
I am Senator John A. Girgenti, and I have been proud to serve the residents of New Jersey's 35th District for the past 30 years - first in the Assembly, and for the last 17 years in the Senate. It has been an honor and a privilege to represent our great and historic district.
I will continue to work hard with my colleagues in Trenton to make our streets safer, our schools better, and our economy stronger. That's why I:
- Sponsored anti-gang legislation and formed a gang task force,
- Sponsored "Amber Alert" - a lifesaving statewide notification system that alerts the public about missing children,
- Wrote the law to increase the pay for our National Guard when they are called into active duty,
- Voted to increase property tax rebates to homeowners including seniors and renters,
- Voted to restore funding for special education services that takes the burden off local taxpayers, and
- Supported tougher standards for teachers and students.
Thanks to your continued support, I am returning to Trenton to fight for what's important to all of the citizens of the 35th District.
